- Price: $195.00

- Model: Sextant
- Description: Manufactured by the Cruver Mfg. Co. ca. 1944. This is a cased, gray plastic sextant with flip-down tinted filters. The instrument has fold-out finger leaves on the reverse side, and is in excellent, virtually unused condition with even the filters intact and undamaged. The sextant is housed in its original U.S. MARITIME/COMMISSION marked carry case (10 x 9 x 3 1/2) which is in very good shape, intact with and old water-resistant varnish that has turned brown over time, and a flaked but intact leather handle. The sextant is housed with a set of original Maritime Commission parallel rules, instruction book, note pad, and eraser. These were manufactured during World War II for placement aboard U.S. Merchant Marine vessels to be used in the event of evacuation.
