Webley WG Army Model 1896 Revolver by Wilkinson Sword Co.
- Maker: Webley
- Model: WG
- Caliber: .455
- Description: Serial #14130, .455/.476, 6 barrel with a fine, bright bore that has traces of mild freckling within the grooves. This is a truly handsome revolver that has retained 90-92% of the original bright blue finish that has faded to freckled gray along the frontstrap, and silvered along the high edges and projections. Some further mottled gray fading is present on the cylinder. The topstrap is marked 'WG' ARMY MODEL on the left side, with the Winged Bullet W&S trademark on the left side of the frame, ENGLAND export stamp on the left side of the barrel breech, and WILKINSON SWORD Co. PALL MALL, LONDON retailer marking along the top of the barrel rib. The hammer, trigger, and cylinder bracket have some further traces of mild freckling on the otherwise bright metal, while the thumb-latch has a plum-brown patina and traces blue on protected areas. Additionally, a moderate turn-ring is present on the cylinder. The checkered Vulcanite grips are numbered to the gun on the interior, and are in fine shape with some scattered bruises and mild flattening of the points. A previous owner has scratched their name and a Wisconsin address onto the interior of both panels. The lock-up is still solid and tight, and the action functions flawlessly. This is a handsome WG revolver, and is in fine-near excellent condition overall. FFL or C&R
