Webley Pre-RIC No. 2 Revolver (Published)

  • Price: $1,695.00
  • Maker: Webley
  • Model: RIC
  • Caliber: .380

  • Description: Serial #3627, .380 CF, 3 1/2 barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling towards the muzzle. This is a very early gun (made in the mid-1870s judging by the retailer markings) that has retained 75-80% of the bright, commercial blue, with the balance flaked to a smooth, plum-brown patina. The topstrap is marked: ARMY & NAVY CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY / LIMITED, LONDON (in the early script style font); and the Webley Winged Bullet trademark is present on the left side. Later Birmingham nitro proofs are also present. The hammer, trigger, and ejector rod assembly still have the original armory bright finish, and the checkered walnut grip has a few minor blemishes, as well as some flattening of the points. The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly. This very revolver is described and illustrated on pg. 146 of Webley Solid Frame Revolvers Models RIC, MP, and No. 5 by Black, Davis, and Michaud (2010). This is a fine example of a rare, Pre-RIC revolver, in near excellent condition, that was published in a respected reference. Antique
