Charles Pryse No. 1 RIC Revolver Single Digit Serial Number 4

  • Maker: Pryse
  • Model: RIC
  • Caliber: .442

  • Description: Serial #4, .442 CF, 3 5/8 barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling along its length. This is a well-made revolver that has retained about 95-97% of the original nickel finish with flaking to plum-brown underlying metal at the muzzle, and scattered small spots along the frame and cylinder. The topstrap is retailer marked: WATSON & HANCOCK / 308 HIGH HOLBORN, LONDON; and the left side of the frame has: PRYSES / R.I.C.; AND CARTRIDGE / BRAND / (cartridge) / REGISd. The checkered walnut grip is in fine shape with some mild flattening of the points and a few minor handling marks in the oil finish. An identical revolver (serial #7) is illustrated on page 153 of Webley Solid Frame Revolvers Models RIC, MP, and No. 5 by Black, Davis, and Michaud (2010). This is an excellent example of a rare Pryse RIC revolver, and would make a great addition to any collection. Antique
