Item #38349

Bavarian Model 1883 Reichsrevolver (Unit Marked)

  • Maker: German
  • Model: Reichsrevolver
  • Caliber: 10.6mm

  • Description: Serial #8360, 10.6 x 25R, 5" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This is an undated revolver that has all-matching numbers, and a V.C.S. * C.G.H. / SUHL makers mark on the left side of the frame. The metal retains 85-90% of the original blue with the balance faded to a smooth, plum-brown, and there is bright metal along some of the high edges and contact points. The lock-up is tight, and the action is fully functional. The walnut grips rate very good with only minor handling marks and scratches on either panel. Unit markings are present on the butt denoting use by a Bavarian artillery unit: B.2.A.3.40 (2nd Bavarian Artillery, 3rd Battery, Gun 40). This is a scarce, Bavarian-issued Reichsrevolver, that rates very good plus condition overall. Antique
