Australian Mk. III* Signal Pistol by Colonial Sugar Refinery
- Maker: Australian
- Model: Mk. III*
- Caliber: 25mm
- Description: Serial #11666, 25mm, 5 3/4 flared barrel with an excellent bore. This 1942 dated pistol has an overall dull ochre patina on the brass frame and barrel, with a slightly brighter tone on the flared barrel extension. Numerous small peen marks and blemishes are present on the left side of the frame, however the CSR / SYDNEY makers mark is still clear and legible. Extensive military proof and inventory stamps are present throughout, as well as two large D^K Australian property stamps on the left side of the frame and barrel. The trigger, hammer spur, and barrel stirrup have a pewter gray patina, with additional freckling throughout. The lock-up is tight and the heavily worn, but intact, hard rubber grips are in very good condition with numerous minor handling marks and flattened checkering points. This is a fine example of a desirable, Australian contractor-made Mk. III flare gun.
